2012 #MSSAA #Cheerleading Fall State Championship and our journey to #Cheersport Nationals!

MSSAA Fall 2012 State Championship

I am so excited that my team, the varsity Hopkinton Hiller’s won a bid to Nationals being hosted by Cheersport Cheerleading and Dance competition in Atlanta, Georgia. I actually was at Cheersport last year for my All-star team Cheerfactor and can’t wait to go back. It is an amazing and incredibly exciting event with literally thousands of cheerleaders and spectators attending and this year they are expecting over 900 teams! Cheersport is run with such precision that all the hundreds of team perform on-time with every detail organized and in place. Cheersport also holds one of the quickest awards ceremony I have ever witnessed. Cheer Nation descends on Atlanta, Georgia and we sort of take over the city. Atlanta is the perfect host city with so much to offer. Hundreds of restaurants like The Hard Rock Cafe are there and the hotels really roll out the red carpet. We stayed at one of the Marriotts and the service was first class.  Last year while I was walking through the city, I even ran into a film crew on one of the side streets where they were filming  the show “The Walking Dead”. I have been on enough sets to recognize the big equipment and know what is going on so I quietly removed myself before I ended up between the camera and actors. The CNN headquarters is also located there and if I have the time this year – I would love to have a tour of it. At the event they offer a lot of gifts and prizes and last year I was able to get a free pair of really cool SOFFE shorts signed by Mr. SOFFE himself. My team is awesome and we are really working hard to perfect our skills. Just like every other team, we are going there for one reason only – to win first place and be awarded the coveted National Championship jackets. The competition is going to be tough, but hopefully our hard work will pay off!  I am really looking forward to my trip in February and we are working tremendously hard so that we perform at our peak.  Go Lady Hillers!

X – Factor Routine #1!

This is our Cheer Factor X-Factor routine  – I start in the front of the stage on the right – I wave to the crowd right before the start.

“I BASE. You know who I am though you might not ALWAYS see me. I support the weight of many, but do you know HOW I do it?

It took the TRUST of a flyer to put her life in my hands so that I may propel her skyward. I toss her, extend her, twist, pop and throw her, but most importantly, I CATCH her.

They call me BASE. What do they call you?”

This my favorite quote. I have attached our routine (1st place WSF Springfield Small level 5) and a few pictures from our competition. So proud of my team – X-Factor!! 🙂

This video was taken on March 17th, 2012 at the WSF comp in Springfield, MA.

Dancing with the Stars – Spoiler alert #DWTS Actress and anti-bully advocate Meredith Prunty

Have you ever Googled yourself?  I don’t, but my mom/manager does  all the time because she finds it interesting all the unusual sites I pop up on. The latest is a news story about Dancing with the Stars that has me linked to the show. This is actually one of the few shows that I watch and ironically my mother has been trying to get her friend Greg Louganis on this show for about 3 years now. So my only question is why is my name now attached. Is it a spoiler alert? Click on my cheerleading picture and it will lead me to the article. I cheer on two teams (High School and Cheer Factor All Star) but I have never danced so I doubt I would do very well.  Tell me what you think 🙂

New #Cheerleading uniforms!!!

I attached a quick clip of me and my team cheering at a recent High School football game. I love cheering at the games and it is fun to have the crowd cheer with us. One of my favorite quotes is: “In other sports, if you miss the catch, all you drop is the ball”  In cheerleading, it is important to always be focused. I am a “Base” so my responsibility is to ensure that our “flyer” is secure and safe. We need to always work together as a team and it helps to be strong.  I hope you enjoy the video clip! 🙂

Yes I’m a cheerleader, yes I’m an athlete, yes im a girl, gotta problem with that? 🙂

My Virtual Audition!

Hi Everyone! I thought it would be fun to give you a glimpse into my world of auditions.  Auditions can be tough enough , but now try fitting them in to a crazy busy schedule – like I have. Fortunately there are virtual auditions!  I have attached an  ACTUAL audition that I did today for a reality series. My Mom filmed it and put the video together – and then added some recent photos and a fashion shoot clip and presto – audition done! I am going to send this very link to the actual producers later tomorrow so you should all post your comments and wish me luck so they can see what great fans I have! Thanks everyone and Enjoy!!!

Boston Entertainment News – Meredith Prunty

Recently I was interviewed by Hopkinton Television Station HCAM. There are two versions of the interview. I attached the short edition as the long edition is not available yet. I enjoy talking to the media because it gives me an opportunity to discuss my acting career but also the social issues that trouble me such as bullying and child trafficking.  Additional interviews are scheduled with various media outlets so stay tuned!
