Last summer and before I was a member of SAG, I had the opportunity to work on the movie “Sexting in Suburbia”. I have written a previous post on my experience on this set and how wonderful the Producer, Director, Cast and Crew were and now that the movie is available on DVD, I was able to capture a few stills where I appeared in the background. Background work is a chance to gain experience and exposure. I am not 18 so typically a lot of the actors that they hire to look like teenagers are 18 plus “to look younger”. This affords the production more flexibility. Also – a lot of the movies I did prior to becoming a member of the Screen Actors Guild was for IMDb credit and meals – no pay. It open doors and helps to gain experience. I was happy to be a part of this production and met some really fun people who I have stayed friends with since the filming. I like to share a bit of reality when it come to gaining experience in the movie industry so people know that it really isn’t all big bucks and glamour. At some point – I hope it will be but for now, I am happy to be a part of all official SAG/AFTRA opportunities. I welcome your comments to this post – is it informative – and interesting?

Today is the first day of summer and one year ago today I attended the spectacular Red Carpet Premier of “Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale”. I met producer John Dunson and some of the cast, got to ride in a limo and rub elbows with the rich and famous! I was also treated to a concert by the band “My Hero” who really rocked the house!
I put together a video of the event which I am sharing now. I wore a spectacular pink dress sprinkled with sparkles. I still had my braces on too – I am so thankful they are off now! I am looking forward to more red carpet premiers this summer. I will be attending one in July for my Boston University short “Break-Up Watch” and hopefully a few more – I am not certain when all the movies I have been in are going to be released. I love dressing up for the premiers and hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed attending this event!

I leave for Romania soon to play the role of Valerie in Toronto Pictures new film Abused in America. I am very impressed that Daria Trifo is so compassionate about Human rights and uses her smart business sense to make successful movies that embrace social issues. I admire successful women and try to learn from them. I look forward to working with both her and Bruno Pischiutta next month and am honored to be cast out of thousands who auditioned for my role. I plan to blog along the way about my adventures in Romania and on the film set. Due to a non-disclosure form I will limit my writings to approved subjects and I will also post a lot of pictures of beautiful Romania. I hope you enjoy it as much as I know I will!
